Whilst eating well and exercising, amongst other things, are main contributors to reducing stress levels, good TIME MANAGEMENT is proven to be one of the most effective ways of combatting this. Along with positive focus, expressing feelings and being flexible/willing to compromise.

Finding TIME to lead a healthy lifestyle is a common complaint.

There are 24 hours in every day and this we cannot change! We can however utilize skills to manage our time within those hours more productively.

SELF MONITORING, PLANNING and SELF CONTROL are important...the more efficient you become, the more energetic you become and in turn the higher your self esteem!

Procrastination is a prime example of a significant stress factor relating to time. Putting important tasks off does not actually give you relief, it escalates stress.

To improve your time management, assess how you spend your time over maybe a 2 week period. How much time do you spend on different activities every day? Both at work and at home.

You then need to PRIORITIZE your activities. What seems urgent and what is important are not always the same thing!

Co-operating with others can also be useful. Delegate where possible, abandon tasks that aren't really necessary, feel confident to say 'no' when you need to.

Personally, on researching this topic, my own personality traits lead me quite often to procrastinate and poorly manage my time. This is not a weakness, it is something to be aware of so I can put measures in place to improve my time management and ultimately my overall well being, due to reduced stress and accomplishing my goals!

It's on going development... ; )
